Coliseum Medical Centers receives quality achievement award
Coliseum Medical Centers received the 2017 American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s “Get With The Guidelines-Stroke” Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target Stroke Honor Roll. Coliseum Medical Centers has received the Gold Plus award for eight consecutive years, but this is the first time it has received the Target Stroke Honor Roll.
To receive the award, hospitals must achieve 85 percent or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines-Stroke achievement indicators for two or more consecutive 12-month periods and have achieved 75 percent or higher compliance with five of eight quality measures. In order to receive Target Stroke Honor Roll, hospitals must administer the clot-busting drug in at least 50 percent of the stroke population in less than 60 minutes.
Owned by Hospital Corporation of America, Coliseum Medical Centers is a 310-bed facility offering a 24-hour emergency room, diagnostic services, inpatient and outpatient surgery options, rehabilitation programs and behavioral health.
Peyton Anderson Cancer Center receives national accreditation
Peyton Anderson Cancer Center, Navicent Health, has been granted three-year national accreditation with commendation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
To earn this voluntary accreditation, a cancer program must meet or exceed the commission’s quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a survey process and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care.
Three-year accreditation with commendation is only awarded to a facility that exceeds standard requirements at the time of its triennial survey.
Robins Financial names new vice president
Dan Komanski has been hired as vice president of risk management at Warner Robins-based Robins Financial Credit Union.
Komanski has 30 years of banking experience with HSBC Bank USA. He has a degree in business administration from Medaille College and has recently relocated to the area from Buffalo, New York. Before joining Robins Financial, he held a variety of positions related to security, fraud and compliance.
Robins Financial Credit Union is a non-profit financial cooperative with 19 branches in Middle Georgia. Robins Financial provides financial services to more than 181,000 members, with assets exceeding $2.3 billion.
Clinchfield cement plant receives energy certification
Cemex’s cement plant in Clinchfield was one of four plants owned by the company that achieved the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star certification for 2017, recognizing their efforts in energy efficiency and sustainability.
This achievement recognizes the plant's efforts in energy efficiency and sustainability.
The plants achieved the certification by ranking in the top 25 percent for energy conservation when compared to similar U.S. facilities. Each plant also had to meet the technical requirements of the Energy Star plant energy performance indicators.
The Clinchfield plant achieved Energy Star certification for the 11th consecutive year with this recognition.
River Edge unveils new logo at Employee Appreciation Day
For the first time in seven years, River Edge Behavioral Health recently unveiled a new logo and brand identity as part of its Employee Appreciation Day at the River Edge Recovery Center in Macon.
The new look is part of River Edge’s focus to convey hope for the communities it serves and destigmatize the need for mental health treatment and support. The logo was designed locally by Burt + Burt.
Employee Appreciation events are held annually at four central River Edge locations. The organization employs more than 700 people in more than 50 locations across Middle Georgia, which makes it one of central Georgia’s largest employers. In 2015, River Edge’s economic impact in Central Georgia was estimated at $119 million.
River Edge Behavioral Health provides treatment and support services for more than 13,000 children, youth, families and adults who experience mental illness, addiction, co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities annually. River Edge services extend throughout Middle Georgia.
Downtown Perry business awarded Boost grant
Central Computer Services recently received a $400 Boost grant from Boost Downtown Perry to purchase computer repair equipment.
Central Computer Services previously received a $250 grant to purchase equipment used in servicing computers.
Boost Downtown Perry is an investment group that provides grant funds to entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses in the downtown development district. Investors donate the program’s funds and vote on applications. The Perry Downtown Development Authority, the economic vitality committee of Perry’s Main Street program, oversees the program.
