Midstate Wal-Mart celebrates reopening with samples, giveaways

The Wal-Mart store in Perry has been renovated, and the company is ready to officially show it off Friday and Saturday.

Customers are invited to the discount department store at 1009 Saint Patrick Drive from at 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday when the store will “host fun events for the whole family, and samples and giveaways will be available while supplies last,” according to a news release. This will continue 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

Some of the new features include:

▪  State-of-the-art electronics department with interactive displays

▪  12 new self-checkouts

▪  Wal-Mart pickup located near the front of the store

▪  A refreshed customer service desk

▪  A designated Walmart MoneyCenter offering a variety of financial services.

The renovation work began March 20.

“We’re looking forward to reintroducing our store to the community with a fresh look,” store manager Keith Anderson said in the release. “Our everyday low prices remain the same, but these investments add greater convenience and an improved shopping experience for the people of Perry.”

Founded in 1962, Arkansas-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has more than 11,500 stores in 28 countries and e-commerce websites in 11 countries. The company employs about 2.4 million people worldwide.
