Manufacturers and job seekers might find what both need on new website
A new online job board has been launched to help manufacturers find workers and to help job seekers find employment.
The Georgia Manufacturing Alliance opened the job board last week to help manufacturers find potential employees who have an interest in careers in the manufacturing industry, according to a release. The open positions will span all categories from engineering, production, warehousing and logistics to needs in human resources, finance and executive level management.
Employers and job seekers may access the site at www.GaManufacturingJobs.com.
A sampling of the jobs listed this week included warehouse tech/forklift operator, welder and health screener/nurse in Macon, yard loader and supervisor in Perry and a twister operator at a carpet company in Milledgeville.
The website was prelaunched May 15 to a select group of Georgia Manufacturing Alliance members who have already posted a variety of open positions. This base of job opportunities is expected to expand as more companies learn about the site.
“As we travel around the state touring manufacturing facilities, we hear a recurring concern in finding qualified candidates to fill the open positions they have,” Jason Moss, CEO of the Georgia Manufacturing Alliance, said in the statement. “Manufacturers are experiencing a shortage of candidates who are ready, willing and able to work in the manufacturing industry.”
Manufacturers can post a standard 30-day job listing for $97, and Georgia Manufacturing Alliance members receive a 50-percent discount. Job seekers can post their resumes publicly for all employers to see or they can store their resume in a private mode to be sent only when applying for a specific job.
The Georgia Manufacturing Alliance is a membership-based industry organization founded in 2008 to support Georgia’s manufacturing community. It provides monthly plant tours, educational sessions, trade shows and networking opportunities.
