Chicken chain plans to open three stores in Macon in 2017
Three Bojangles restaurants are expected to open in Macon by the end of 2017. The chain is known for its fried chicken and made-from-scratch biscuits.
The first store would be built at 4290 Pio Nono Ave., and it is expected to open by early next year, according to a news release. The second store would open on Gray Highway by spring 2017 and the third store would open on Riverside Drive by fall 2017.
“Unfortunately, we are too early in the construction process to have official addresses” for the second and third stores, Cliff Cermak, a PR and media relations specialist for the Charlotte, North Carolina-based company, said in an email. The restaurants would be operated by franchisee Jeniel, LLC, also based in Charlotte. It operates 14 other Bojangles’ restaurants in the Carolinas and Georgia.
“I understand (the Pio Nono) location will have some new design elements on the interior, including a Biscuit Theater, where customers will walk in and be able to witness Bojangles’ biscuit makers making biscuits from scratch right in front of them,” Cermak said.
Each store would employ about 40 workers, he said. Candidates interested in management or hourly team member positions may apply at www.pleaseapplyonline.com/jeniel.
Franchise owner David Maisel said he has been interested in come to Macon for some time.
“Our group looks forward to being a great partner and leader in the city for years to come, creating new jobs and providing neighbors with friendly service and our delicious, freshly-made menu items,” Maisel said in the release.
