Macon, Bibb County voters overwhelming support SPLOST

With all the precincts reporting, Bibb County voters overwhelmingly gave their support to the $190 million special purpose local option sales tax referendum. The final tally, minus provisional ballots, was 14,809 for and 5,572 against.The SPLOST is expected to collect $190 million over six years through and would raise the sales tax from 6 percent to 7 percent.
