Bears set to open season against Panthers

The Mercer men’s soccer team is set to begin its season Friday night at home against Georgia State.

On Tuesday, Mercer travels to South Carolina, and then the Bears take part in the SoCon/Big South Challenge against Winthrop and Gardner-Webb.

The Bears’ first Southern Conference game is Sept. 27 against Wofford.

Mercer finished 11-6-3 last season. The Bears are 13-5-2 in the Southern Conference in two years in the conference and won the 2014 regular-season title.

This year’s team is led by seniors Ian Antley, Connor Antley and Jordan Duru and junior Will Bagrou.
