Bears ready to start volleyball season

The Mercer volleyball team gets its season started this week in the Charlotte Invite in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Bears open against Campbell at 10 a.m. on Friday and face Charlotte at 7 p.m. on Friday before playing South Florida at noon on Saturday.

Mercer is coming off of a 10-19 overall record and 5-11 mark in Southern Conference play in 2015 while returning multiple key players, including sophomore Paige Alsten, who led the conference in blocks (131) as a freshman, and senior Tori Penrod, who is as a standout at libero.
