Bears picked third in preseason

The Mercer men’s soccer team was picked to finish in a tie for third in the Southern Conference preseason poll, which was released Thursday.

The Bears also placed three players on the preseason all-conference team: senior defender Ian Antley, senior midfielder Jordan Duru and junior forward Will Bagrou.

UNC Greensboro was picked first, followed by Furman and then Mercer and East Tennessee State.

Antley scored two goals and had two assists last season, while Duru scored seven goals and had seven assists, while Bagrou had five goals and four assists.
