Mercer basketball to play at Clemson this season

Another piece to the Mercer men’s basketball team’s schedule fell into place Wednesday.

Clemson announced its non-conference schedule for the 2016-17 season, and included on that schedule is a game with Mercer on Dec. 10. Clemson is in the middle of a rebuild of Littlejohn Coliseum and will reopen the arena against Georgia on Nov. 11.

Mercer is scheduled to face Davidson for the second straight season. The Bears lost 77-71 to the Wildcats last season.

Mercer will also take part in the Savannah Invitational in late November, along with Georgia Southern, Air Force, Akron, East Carolina, Florida A&M , Radford and Stetson.
