Kevin Porter named Fort Valley State’s football head coach

Fort Valley State athletics director Joshua W. Murfree Jr. announced Tuesday that Kevin Porter has been named the school’s football head coach.

Porter has 10 seasons as both an assistant and a head coach at the professional level. He also served as an assistant coach at West Georgia coach and as the head coach at athletics director at Point.

The former Warner Robins standout coached in the Arena Football League and arenafootball2, including several seasons as the head coach of the Macon Knights.

Porter was a four-year starter and two-time All-SEC player at Auburn before playing six seasons in the NFL.
