Mercer women’s basketball player Kyesha Lewis transfers to Central Georgia Tech

Kyesha Lewis, a 5-foot-11 forward who spent one season at Mercer, has transfered to Central Georgia Tech, CGTC head coach Antonio Harris announced Monday.

Lewis averaged 2.0 points and 0.8 rebounds and shot 69.2 percent from the field in 10 games played with the Bears.

She played her high school ball at Effingham County and scored more than 1,000 points in her career. Lewis was a two-time region player of the year who helped her team to consecutive region titles in 2012 and 2013.

“It gives me great pleasure to welcome a player such as Kyesha Lewis to our program,” Harris said. “It speaks volumes to the direction in which CGTC women’s basketball is headed. It’s a great day for CGTC when a kid leaves a major Division I program of high academic standard and entrusts our institution to help her fulfill her academic and basketball goals.”
