Incoming Mercer basketball freshman wins Oklahoma high school award
Incoming Mercer basketball freshman Darius Roy was named the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association 2016 Class 5A Player of the Year this week.
Roy played his high school career at Lawton Eisenhower in Lawton, Oklahoma, and led his team to a 23-5 record and a state semifinal trip as a senior. The Eagles won the state title in Roy’s junior season.
Roy averaged 21.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.8 steals per game this season.
