Mercer women picked fifth in Southern Conference

The Mercer women's basketball team was picked Thursday to finish fifth in the Southern Conference by both the conference's coaches and media members.

Chattanooga was picked to win the conference title by the coaches and media.

Mercer's Kahlia Lawrence was named to the preseason all-conference team by the coaches.

The complete coaches poll was Chattanooga, Furman, East Tennessee State and Samford (tie), Mercer, UNC Greensboro, Western Carolina and Wofford. The complete media poll was Chattanooga, East Tennessee State, Samford, Furman, Mercer, Western Carolina, Wofford and UNC Greensboro.
