49ers place DeAndre Smelter on reserve/non-football injury list

Former Tattnall Square and Georgia Tech standout DeAndre Smelter was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list Monday.

Smelter, a rookie, was drafted by the 49ers in the fourth round in May. He is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in November during the Yellow Jackets’ win over rival Georgia.

The 49ers have 75 players on their roster, which must be trimmed to 53 by Saturday.
