Mercer women’s soccer team falls to Appalachian State

The Mercer women’s soccer team dropped to 1-3 this season with a 2-1 loss to Appalachian State on Sunday.

Haleigh Svede scored the Bears’ goal on an assist from Jamilah Tejan to break a scoreless tie early in the second half. But the Mountaineers responded with two goals for the win. Appalachian State outshot Mercer 23-11.

The Bears host Tennessee Tech at 7 p.m. on Friday.
