Longtime Atlanta first baseman Freddie Freeman has been on the disabled list since the middle of May. He could be playing another position when he returns to the team.

According to Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Freeman approached the Braves about playing third base when he returns from the DL. Matt Adams was acquired to play first base after Freeman was injured, and Adams has played well in Freeman’s absence.

Freeman worked out at third base Wednesday before the Braves’ game against the San Francisco Giants.
