Lawrence earns Southern Conference award

Mercer junior Kahlia Lawrence was named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Lawrence averaged 31.5 points per game in two games, scoring 29 points against Campbell and then 34 against Florida Atlantic. Lawrence recorded the third 30-point game of her career Friday.

Lawrence also led Mercer in rebounds (13) and steals (six) during the week. She leads the conference and ranks 29th nationally with 21.8 points per game and leads the conference rankings in total points (87), made field goals (35) and field goal attempts (81).
