Mercer women’s team opens with balanced victory

KeKe Calloway and Linnea Rosendal each scored 17 points Friday night to lead the Mercer women’s basketball team to an 84-70 win over Emmanuel College.

Two other Bears — Sydni Means (13) and Kahlia Lawrence (11) — also scored in double figures.

The Bears led by 10 after the first quarter but outscored Emmanuel 32-10 in the second quarter to take control.

Means added seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot. Lawrence added seven assists and six rebounds.

Mercer travels to Georgia on Sunday afternoon.
