Thanks to its 5-1 win over Western Little League of Macon late last month to win the District 5 tournament, the Warner Robins American Little League softball team is headed back to the state tournament.
With seven returning starters from last year’s state runner-up team, manager Roger Stella feels like the extra year has given his players some added confidence.
“We are just more experienced than last year,” he said.
Also in Warner Robins’ favor are its two top pitchers: Emma Williams and Rylee Lamb.

“The depth we have at pitching is going to be key for us,” Stella said.
In her second time going to the state tournament, Lamb said the team is taking it one game at a time.
The tournament will be played at Pioneer Little League in Columbus. Warner Robins starts play at noon on Saturday.
“I think the key to us winning will be playing as a team, throwing strikes and continue to hit through the lineup,” Lamb said.
