Warner Robins softball team wins district title

Warner Robins American Little League beat Western Little League 5-1 on Tuesday in the District 5 11-12-year-old championship game to advance to the state tournament.

Warner Robins will play at noon on July 11 in Columbus. Warner Robins had nine players return from last year’s state runner-up team.

Pitcher Rylee Lamb struck out 10 batters. Ellie Williams went 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and a walk. Jenna Thomas was 1-2 with an RBI, a walk and a run scored. Maddie Langevin was 1-1 and scored a run.

“She had a big pinch hit in the fifth to get us going,” team spokesman Scott Lamb said of Langevin.
