Central Georgia Association honors area’s best bowlers
The top Macon men, women and youth bowlers for the 2015-16 season were honored at the Central Georgia Bowling Association awards banquet. Plaques were presented in recognition of the individual achievements.
Eleven bowlers were honored for their outstanding accomplishments during the past bowling season.
For the men, Travis Patterson had the high average (224), while Kim Smith (175) captured the women's title. Leading the youth was Filmore Thomas, who had the high boys average of 182. Macon action
Activity in league bowling continues to be slim due to the end of the winter season and the start of the summer season. A few high scores were recorded in the Commercial Tenpin league: Dennis Hanson (675), Charles Wade (672), Robert Walker Jr (658/289 game), Frank Davis (654), Kevin Huffman (642), Rico Greene (625), Al Nunez (623) and Alfy Nunez (601).
Tools of the trade
Q: I deliver the ball and get a specific count when there was deadwood in the gutter. Do I get the count?
A: This depends on whether the ball or any of the pins came in contact with the deadwood. If this occurs, those pins knocked down would need to be respotted.
