Love wins Georgia Amateur golf title

Sea Island’s Dru Love defeated Sandy Springs’ Sean Elliott and Augusta’s Greyson Sigg in a playoff to win the Georgia Amateur golf championship Sunday at Sea Island.

Love, who will be a junior at Alabama in the fall, won on the fifth playoff hole with a birdie. All three players remained tied through the first four holes after finishing at 8-under-par 272.

Eatonton’s Trey Rule, a Mercer product, finished one shot out of the playoff at 7-under 273 after shooting a 4-under 66 on Sunday.
