The Macon Mayhem let 2-0 lead slip away in loss

The Louisiana Ice Gators rallied from a 2-0 deficit and defeated the Macon Mayhem 3-2 Friday night at the Macon Coliseum.

Nick Grasso and Daniel Gentzler had first-period goals for Macon. Jake Trask continued his hot scoring for the Mayhem, with two assists.

But Louisiana answered with second-period scores by Nicholas Kuqali and Geordie Wudrick. The Ice Gators' Blake Hietala had the only goal of the third period, giving Louisiana its first win in the season season series against the Mayhem, with the visiting team having won all three contests.

Despite the loss, it was a solid night in goal for the Mayhem's Garrett Bartus, who stopped 41 of the 44 shots he faced. Louisiana outshot the Mayhem 44-20.

Macon will host the Columbus Cottonmouths at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
