SPHL makes Macon, Huntsville punishment decisions

The Macon Mayhem will be shorthanded in one form or another for five games, according to suspensions handed out Tuesday by the SPHL.

Macon and Huntsville had their head coach and three players suspended indefinitely on Sunday for a postgame fight after Saturday night’s game, a 6-3 Macon win. The SPHL got specific on Tuesday.

Macon head coach Kevin Kerr is out for four games and will return for the April 2 game against Pensacola.

Dennis Sicard earned the longest suspension, five games. He was assessed a major penalty for fighting and game misconduct for fighting after the game.

Stathis Soumelidis is out for four games, for spearing, and will return against Pensacola.

Chris Joseph earned a one-game punishment that he served Sunday against Huntsville.

Huntsville Head Coach Glenn Detulleo is out for three games, while Scott Fellnermayr earned a one-game punishment. Nolan Kaiser and Justin Tateson earned four-game suspensions.

Both teams were fined, and the teams made a joint donation of $2,500 to Still Serving Veterans.

Macon was at Fayetteville on Tuesday and returns home to face Roanoke “Cherry Blossom Night” at the Macon Coliseum.
