Wren dismissed as Braves' general manager

The Atlanta Braves announced the firing of general manager Frank Wren on Monday morning.

Former Texas Rangers' and Cleveland Indians’ general manager John Hart will serve as the club’s interim general manager. Hart was a senior advisor to the Braves.

Wren was in his seventh season as the Braves’ general manager. The Braves have gone 4-14 in September and were officially eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday. It’s the second September collapse for the Braves in the past four years.

The Braves announced Hart, president John Schuerholz and former manager Bobby Cox will search for a permanent general manager.
