Northside hosts Peach County, GISA season gets rolling

Friday night will whet appetites in a major way in the final weekend before the GHSA season gets going.

The marquee scrimmage is at McConnell-Talbert Stadium, where Northside entertains Peach County in a matchup featuring high-level defenders (Kyle and Kevin Nixon of Peach County, Tae Daley and Kam Burnett of Northside, among others).

There are battles of neighbors throughout the area: Bleckley County at West Laurens, Dublin at Twiggs County, GMC at Putnam County and Hawkinsville at Dodge County.

Bibb County fans have some choices, as well, with Central at FPD, Howard at Mount de Sales, Schley County hosting Tattnall Square and Rutland traveling to Crawford County.

Also: Upson-Lee visits Jones County, Veterans heads south to Crisp County, Dooly County is at Baldwin, Washington County welcomes Jefferson County and Lamar County hosts South Atlanta.

Three Middle Georgia teams open the GISA season Friday with John Milledge hosting Pinewood and Windsor at home against Heritage, while Piedmont is at Bethlehem Christian.
