Windsor softball to honor Western Little League

When it comes to championship softball, Windsor has plenty of experience.

Four of the Knights’ players — Kassidy Hulett, Taylor Osborn, Skye McKinney and Holly Phillips — and assistant coach Larry McKinney were part of Western Little League’s 2012 state championship 12-year-old softball team. They teamed up to help lead the Knights to the GISA Class AA championship last fall.

Another Western Little League player with state title experience joins Windsor’s squad this fall. Eighth-grader Jordan Moss will play for the Knights after taking part in Western’s trip to the Little League Southeastern Regional in Warner Robins.

This year’s Little League Softball state championship team will be recognized at Windsor’s season-opening softball tournament, which takes place Friday and Saturday.

Joining Windsor in the tournament are David Emanuel, CFCA, Fullington, Southland and Tiftarea. The ceremony for Western will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Windsor.
