Howard freshman wins gold at AAU Nationals

Howard freshman India Turk claimed gold in the 14-year-old triple jump competition at the AAU Junior Olympics on Monday in Humble, Texas.

Representing the M.G.M Track Club, Turk jumped 39 feet, 5 inches, topping second-place Jade McDonald of the Long Beach Sprinters by a foot.

Turk was slated to compete in the long jump Wednesday. She is coached by Howard head coach Sherri Marks.
