Daley picks Vanderbilt, Middle Georgia signings continue

Dodge County’s J.T. Shields signed with Middle Georgia State in baseball.

Bleckley County baseball standout Cal Young has signed with Armstrong State, which signed Griff Faircloth of Veterans and Tanner Hall of Houston County, and Caleb Slaughter of Bleckley County (by way of ABAC) in the fall.

Bleckley County’s Bryant Trice committed to play baseball at Valdosta State.

Former Peach County standout Sean Freeman, a defensive back at Eastern Arizona Junior College, is now at Georgia Southern. Freeman was an NCAA Division I qualifier out of high school, so he’s eligible to play for the Eagles this season. Freeman had 55 tackles and two interceptions to earn All-Arizona Community College Athletic Conference first-team honors last season.

Northside defensive back Tae Daley has committed to Vanderbilt. The two-time All-Middle Georgia first-team pick had 41 tackles for the Eagles last year.

Former Northside defensive line ace Isaiah Johnson is at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and has been offered by Nebraska, Houston and Memphis State, and he is drawing interest from Central Florida, West Virginia, Arkansas and Oklahoma. He’ll be a sophomore at NEO, and is the No. 10 junior college defensive tackle, according to 247sports.com.
