Crusaders from Robert Toombs, Trinity Christian enjoy GISA track titles
Robert Toombs’ girls and Trinity Christian’s boys took home GISA state track championships last week, Robert Toombs in Class AA girls and Trinity Christian in Class AAA boys.
Brentwood’s girls were eight points behind Robert Toombs, Gatewood was second in Class AAA girls by six points.
Jacob McLeod of Trinity Christian won three titles, in the 800 meters, 1,600 and 3,200. He set a state mark in the 3,200, which he won by more than 15 seconds, and the 1,600.
John Milledge’s Daloria Boone set a state mark in her heat in the 100. Grace Bridges of Gatewood won both hurdles events in Class AAA girls.
Several Middle Georgians claimed titles.
In Class AA girls: Bradley Scott, Robert Toombs, shot put; Parker Krause, Crisp Academy, triple jump; Cassie Heath, Robert Toombs, pole vault; Hope Denmark, Robert Toombs, 100; Ivie Nobles, Twiggs Academy, 1,600; Michael Ann Hood, Brentwood, 800; Lauren Crabb, Brentwood, 200; Brentwood, 4x100 relay; Robert Toombs, 4x400 relay.
In Class AA boys: Marquise Jackson, Windsor, long jump; Bryson Davis, Robert Toombs, pole vault.
In Class AAA girls: Jade Johnson, Trinity Christian, discus; Daloria Boone, John Milledge, long jump; Grace Bridges, Gatewood, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles.
In Class AAA boys: Ben Howard, Trinity Christian, discus; Hugh Duggan, Westfield, pole vault; McLeod, Trinity Christian, 1,600, 3200 and 800; Gatewood 4x400 relay.
