Tattnall Square, FPD make coaching moves

The school year is nearing an end, but that doesn’t mean it’s quiet on the hiring front, as evidenced by announcements of such moves this week by Tattnall Square and FPD.

Tattnall announced Friday that Dresden Muncy is the new girls soccer head coach while Robert Ochieng takes over the boys program, as well as cross country.

Kenny Epps was the head coach in all three areas, but he’s returning to his alma mater, Mount de Sales to coach the Cavaliers’ girls soccer team.

“We’re sorry to see Kenny go,” Tattnall athletics director Todd Whetsel said. “He did a great job for us. This does give us a chance to break it up and have coaches for each sport.”

Iain Jones coached both teams at Mount de Sales and will retain his spot as the boys head coach.

Walker Middlebrooks has taken over the cross country program at FPD, replacing Shane Hall, who resigned last week. Middlebrooks assumed that role with the girls cross country team earlier this year when Holly Scott stepped down. Middlebrooks, a 2009 graduate of FPD, is also the Vikings boys and girls head track coach.
