Jones County trio leads latest Middle Georgia signings

A pair of Jones County basketball players signed during the week.

Krystal Wimberly is now headed to Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City, Alabama. The Pirates went 14-16 last season, 8-4 in Alabama Community College Conference action.

Devin Wooten, a first-team All-Middle Georgia selection last month, signed with Albany Tech, a junior college. The Titans went 10-20 last season.

Greyhounds football and baseball standout Chandler Ramage is set to attend Reinhardt to play football.

LaGrange has added Tyler MacCartee of GMC. MacCartee played quarterback and on defense for the Bulldogs.

FPD football standout Dontrez Johnson signed Friday with Walsh, a Division II program in Canton, Ohio. The Cavaliers finished 2-8 last season under head coach Ted Karras, the nephew of the late NFL defensive star Alex Karras.

Westfield’s Hugh Duggan, on the heels of his GISA Class AAA pole vault championship, is heading to Centre College in Kentucky. Duggan vaulted 14-0 in this year's meet. He improved by nearly two feet from last year's 12-6 and second-place finish. He won the title in 2014 with a mark of 14-0.
