The 2015 All-Middle Georgia cross country runner of the year is off to a good start in track, covering the 3,200-meter run Friday at Parkview in 9:34, setting a Bleckley County record.

Dawson Daniel, Mary Persons, soccer

The midfielder had three goals and an assist in a 7-1 win over Pike County, lifting the Bulldogs to 9-2-1.

Tyler Oates, GMC, soccer

Oates helped the Bulldogs to a GHSA Class A Area 3 win over Prince Avenue Christian with a hat trick, his second hat trick of the week.

Logan Simmons, Tattnall Square, baseball

Simmons went 9-for-14 in four games for the Trojans at a tournament in Florida, all against Florida teams.

GIRLS

Rosanna Baker, Jones County, tennis

Baker rolled to a 6-0, 6-3 singles win against Mary Persons and then teamed with Makayla Schafer for a 6-0, 6-1 doubles win.

Emily Barnes, Mary Persons, soccer

Barnes had a goal and two assists in the Bulldogs' tie with Jones County, including the equalizer with less than two minutes left.

Jade Washington, Jones County, soccer

Washington had all of the Greyhounds' goals in their tie with Mary Persons.
