Free physicals slated for Bibb County athletes
The Bibb County School District will offer free athletics physicals for middle school and high school student-athletes in April and May, according to a release from the district.
The physicals will be offered to students in grades 5-11 who are interested in participating in middle school and high school sports. The physicals, which will be conducted by Piedmont Sports Medicine, are a requirement for participation.
Paperwork will need to be completed by the student-athlete and a parent or guardian prior to the physical. That paperwork will be distributed at the schools.
Screenings will take place by high school zone, with screenings beginning at 5:30 p.m. each night. If a student-athlete can't attend the screening in his or her high school zone, then the screening can be completed at another school on its screening night or by the student-athlete's personal physician.
The screening schedule: Central (April 13), Southwest (April 19), Howard (April 21), Rutland (April 26), Westside (April 28) and Northeast (May 3).
