Middle Georgia's GHSA girls basketball capsules
Class AAAAA
Warner Robins (Region 2, third, 21-2) at Sequoyah (Region 7, first, 23-6), 6 p.m.
Tempo will be big. Sequoyah averages 49.7 points a game and spreads out the scoring, and Warner Robins wants to push it. Sequoyah's Lauren and Kelley Hartman team for 14.6 rebounds.
Next: Loganville-Dutchtown winner, 6:30 p.m., Feb. 26, at Columbus State.
Class AAAA
Redan (Region 6, second, 21-5) at Veterans (Region 2, first, 24-4), 6 p.m.
Region 6 had some weak teams, which Redan handled. Paces and sizes are similar, but the Raiders are more physical than the Warhawks, who have a ridiculous record at home.
Next: Griffin/Carrollton winner, 3 p.m., Thursday, at Fort Valley State.
Baldwin (Region 2, second, 22-7) at Marist (Region 6, first, 27-2), 7 p.m.
Marist is undefeated against Georgia teams, losing consecutive games in December to Scott County, Kentucky and Tallahassee-Lincoln, Florida. But the War Eagles have had some close games against not-great teams.
Next: Woodward/Americus-Sumter winner, 3 p.m., Feb. 26, at Fort Valley State
Class AAA
Ringgold (Region 6, second, 21-4) at Peach County (Region 2, first, 24-2), 6 p.m.
Ringgold went undefeated in region play, but lost to Sonoraville by 17 in region tourney final. The Trojans stumbled in this round at home to East Hall a year ago and at Washington County two years ago.
Next: Johnson/Haralson County winner, 3 p.m., Thursday, at Augusta University
Washington County (Region 3, second, 22-7) at West Hall (Region 7, first, 20-8)
West Hall is not a playoff regular recently, and Washington County has been a contender for the Final Four for a while.
Next: Hart County/Jackson winner, 6:30 p.m., Feb. 26, at Augusta University.
Class AA
Bleckley County (Region 4, third, 17-6) at Heard County (Region 5, first, 22-5)
Heard County lost in the first round last year, and will give Bleckley County, a first-round winner, some height to deal with.
Next: Wesleyan/Vidalia winner, 3 p.m., Thursday, at Georgia College.
Wesleyan (Region 6, second, 25-5) at Vidalia (Region 2, first, 23-4)
Vidalia carries a six-game winning streak into a game against a team that expects to be in Macon every year for the championship. This is a much-longer-than-usual road trip for the Wolves, however.
Next: Bleckley County/Heard County winner, 3 p.m., Thursday, at Georgia College.
Jeff Davis (Region 2, second, 25-3) a Holy Innocents (Region 6, first, 23-5)
Holy Innocents hammered Bleckley County by 48 in this round a year ago, but Jeff Davis has won 12 of its past 14 games.
Next: Manchester/Pelham winner, 3 p.m., Feb. 26, at Georgia College.
Monticello (Region 4, third, 12-14) at Rabun County (Region 8, first, 24-3), 5:30 p.m., Saturday
Monticello is a respectable 6-6 on the road and 2-2 at neutral sites, but the Wildcats are 12-1 at home this season, and that was on Dec. 1 to still-alive Dawson County.
Next: Greater Atlanta Christian/Swainsboro winner, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at Georgia College.
Union County (Region 8, second, 17-9) at Putnam County (Region 4, first, 22-4)
The Eagles have won 10 straight, are 12-1 at home, but Union County will have some confidence, having won six of its past seven, including a road tournament game.
Next: Dublin/Model winner, 6:30 p.m., Feb. 26, at Georgia College.
Dublin (Region 3, second, 20-9) at Model (Region 7, first, 26-0), 6 p.m.
Model's last loss? Almost a year ago, in the quarterfinals, 65-51 to Lovett. The Blue Devils avenged that loss on Tuesday by a 56-51 score, their second-closest game this season.
Next: Union County/Putnam County winner, 6:30 p.m., Feb. 26, at Georgia College.
Class A-Private

Southwest Atlanta (Region 5, No. 12, 15-11) at Stratford (Region 7, No. 5, 23-3), 2 p.m., Saturday
The Region 7 tournament champ is on a six-game winning streak and is 10-1 at home, while Southwest Atlanta is a respectable 9-7 away from home, and has some respectable losses.
Next: George Walton/Lakeview winner, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at Kennesaw State.
Athens Christian (Region 8, No. 11, 18-8) at Tattnall Square (Region 7, No. 6, 24-2), 6 p.m.
Athens Christian's region tournament loss to Lakeview broke a seven-game winning streak. Tattnall's region tournament loss to Stratford ended an 11-game winning streak.
Next: Greenforest/Paidea winner, 3 p.m., Feb. 26, at Kennesaw State.
FPD (Region 7, No. 16, 14-12) at St. Francis (Region 6, No. 1, 27-1), 6 p.m.
St. Francis beat Stratford 61-41 in a semifinal a year ago, and its lone loss this season was on Dec. 29 to two-loss Forestville, Maryland in a tournament.
Next: Mt. Paran/Savannah Country Day winner, 3 p.m., Thursday, at Kennesaw State.
Class A-Public

GMC (Region 7, No. 16, 14-10) at Turner County (Region 2, No. 1, 27-0), 6 p.m.
Turner County's last loss was 67-54 in last year's championship to Taylor County. Before that, it was Jan. 10 of last season.
Next: Telfair County/Woodville-Tompkins winner, 3 p.m., Thursday, at Valdosta State.
Woodville-Tompkins (Region 3, No. 9, 17-10) at Telfair County (Region 2, No. 8, 17-9)
The Savannah-based Wolverines are 10-7 away from home. Telfair County is in a tough region and has only one loss to a non-playoff team.
Next: GMC/Turner County winner, 3 p.m., Thursday, at Valdosta State.
Claxton (Region 3, No. 12, 16-10) at Treutlen (Region 3, No. 5, 16-8)
Le'Andra Gillis, a sophomore, leads Treutlen with 22 points a game, but the Vikings will need balance against a team they beat by only four points in the region tournament.
Next: Marion County/Wheeler County winner, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at Valdosta State.
Marion County (Region 4, No. 13, 16-10) at Wheeler County (Region 3, No. 4, 19-6)
Wheeler County's only home loss this season was by 10 to Treutlen in early January, but the Bulldogs have lost two straight.
Next: Claxton/Treutlen winner, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at Valdosta State.
Wilcox County (Region 2, No. 14, 20-7) at Taylor County (Region 4, No. 3, 25-2)
The defending public champions haven't lost at home since February, 2014, and that was to Class AAA Peach County. But Wilcox County has nothing but quality losses.
Next: Greenville/Commerce winner, 3 p.m., Feb. 26, at Valdosta State.
Hancock Central (Region 7, No. 15, 17-8) at Terrell County (Region 2, No. 2, 21-3)
Hancock Central was unbeaten in region play, but Terrell County's losses have been to Class AAAAAA Lee County and Class AAAA Cairo and Westover.
Next: Calhoun County/Mitchell County winner, 6:30 p.m., Feb. 26, at Valdosta State.
