Local wrestlers advance at area tournament

FPD finished second in the team results and five local wrestlers took first place Saturday in the GHSA Area 2-A traditional wrestling meet.

Tattnall Square's Aaron Hilliard at 145 and Christian Rodgers at 220 won in their weight classes, as did Mount de Sales' Michael Garcia at 126, FPD's Denson Martin at 182 and GMC's Brice Adams at 195.

FPD scored 134 points, second behind Eagle's Landing Christian.

The top four from each class advance to the section meets. Sixteen area wrestlers finished in the top four.
