High school notebook: Wrestling area meets this weekend
GHSA traditional wrestling area tournaments will take place Friday and Saturday throughout the state.
Locally, Veterans and West Laurens are hosting tournaments in Class AAAA, Southwest is hosting a tournament in Class AAA, Jeff Davis is hosting in Class AA and FPD is hosting in Class A.
The top four finishers in each weight class qualify for sectional competition, slated for Feb. 5-6. The state meet is scheduled for Feb. 11-13 at Infinite Energy Arena, formerly known as the Arena at Gwinnett Center.
Meet directors and coaches are asked to report results -- or send a link to the results -- to sports@macon.com as soon as the results are available. When reporting results, provide a list of all first-place finishers from the meet from all schools competing.
