Mary Persons track standout Amecia Pennamon is headed to the SEC

Track standout Amecia Pennamon of Mary Persons will sign a letter of intent Thursday morning to attend South Carolina.

Last summer, she was part of a 4x100 relay team that finished second in the USA Track & Field National Olympic Junior championships.

She was an honorable mention All-Middle Georgia selection last spring in the 100 and 200.

Pennamon finished second in the GHSA Class AAAA track meet in the 100 and third in the 200. She also helped the Bulldogs to a seventh-place finish in the 4x100.
