Northside, Houston County stay put in latest poll

The top-10 showdown in Class AAAAA for Friday at McConnell-Talbert Stadium remained intact, as expected, with the latest Georgia Sports Writers Association poll.

Top-ranked Northside and No. 6 Houston County will go at it in a game that could determine a lone GHSA Region 2-AAAAA champion or throw things into a three-way tie for first.

Or, depending on what happens Thursday when No. 5 Jones County visits Warner Robins, there could be a three-way tie for second.

The Eagles, Greyhounds and Bears maintained their poll positions, as did Mary Persons (No. 4 in Class AAAA) and Fitzgerald (No. 5 in Class AA).

Dodge County moved up one to No. 6 in Class AAA.
