SEC Network’s Tony Barnhart to speak at Macon Touchdown Club

SEC Network analyst Tony Barnhart will speak Monday at the Macon Touchdown Club’s weekly meeting at The Methodist Home.

Claiming the weekly back of the week award will be Mount de Sales quarterback/athlete Tres Hattaway, who accounted for 183 yards and two touchdowns in a win over FPD, and Westside’s Savion Knowlton, who completed 19-of-28 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns, as well as ran for 77 yards and two scores, in a win Saturday at Jordan.

The lineman of the week is Windsor’s Tavis Malakius, who graded out at 84 percent and had three pancake blocks, as well as 10½ sacks and a forced fumble, in a win over Brentwood.

FPD’s Daniel Weaver is the special teams player of the week after punting four times with a 40-yard average and recording a 70-yard touchdown run on a fake punt in a loss to Mount de Sales.

This week’s featured schools are Rutland and Covenant. The meeting is open to the public, with dinner tickets costing $30.
