Sunday Morning Quarterback: Game balls

Giles Amos, Westfield: The standout senior caught three passes, two for touchdowns, for 80 yards in the 35-0 win over Gatewood.

Logan Byrd, Veterans: The senior quarterback rushed for two touchdowns, including a 99-yarder, and averaged 44.8 yards punting in a 14-7 win over West Laurens.

Harrison Bryant, John Milledge: Bryant caught seven passes for 124 yards and a touchdown in a 51-18 loss to Westminster.

Mack Brady, Piedmont: The quarterback completed 7-of-12 for 134 yards and a touchdown in a 34-7 win over Georgia Christian.

Quintez Cephus, Stratford: Caught four passes for 65 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for a touchdown in a 41-14 win over Tattnall Square.

Ben Davis, Piedmont: The Cougars’ back needed only eight carries to get 210 yards and two touchdowns.

Pippin Davis, Lamar County: The standout linebacker had 11 solo tackles, three assists, a sack and tackle for loss.

Dodge County defense: The Indians stopped Appling County three times inside the 5 and gave up only a field goal in a 7-3 win.

Cedric Dumas, Lamar County: The Trojans’ defensive lineman had a sack and two tackles for loss along with five solos and five assists in a 21-7 win over Bleckley County

Adrian Hardwick, Mount de Sales: Ran for 96 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in a 22-21 win over FPD.

Zach Harvey, Mary Persons: Ran for 106 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries in a 47-21 win over Howard.

Tres Hattaway, Mount de Sales: Ran for 100 yards and a touchdowns on 17 carries and scored the game-winning touchdown on a 21-yard pass from Pinkey Gilchrist.

Courvoisier King, Howard: Completed 23-of-46 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns.

Marquise Jackson, Windsor: Ran for 185 yards and three touchdowns, including scores of 85 and 71 yards, and had an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in a 50-7 win over Brentwood.

Jake Johnston, Mary Persons: The senior quarterback completed 11-of-17 passes for 207 yards and three first-half touchdowns.

Jaquavious Sims, Mary Persons: Ran for 70 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.

Jatori Sims, Mary Persons: Caught four passes for 151 yards and two first-quarter touchdowns, including one for 80 yards.

Armaun Smith, FPD: Had a 73-yard punt return for a touchdown and a 5-yard scoring run.

Alphonso Stephens, Howard: Caught 10 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown.

Khristian Tate, Covenant: Had a 70-yard scoring run as part of a 96-yard rushing night in a 41-0 win over Sherwood.

Willis Toulson, Brentwood: Ran for 137 yards on 19 carries.

Juan Tucker, Lamar County: He had a full night with 128 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries to go with nine tackles, one for loss.

Veterans defense: West Laurens averaged 256 rushing yards, 139 coming from Darius Bradford. The Warhawks surrendered 89 yards overall and 80 to Bradford in the 14-7 win.

Gunnar Watson, Taylor County: The sophomore quarterback was 5-for-9 for 12 yards and two touchdowns in a half of the Vikings’ 42-20 win over Central-Talbotton.

Daniel Weaver, FPD: Ran a fake punt 70 yards for a touchdown.

O’Showen Williams, Stratford: Ran 10 times for 100 yards and a touchdown.

Cameron Young, Dodge County: The running back/defensive back carried 10 times for 97 yards on offense, then had 9.5 tackles and three pass breakups on defense.
