Not much change for Middle Georgia teams in football poll

There were nine teams from Middle Georgia ranked last week in the Georgia Sports Writers Association polls.

There are eight in the rankings -- Westside dropped out of Class AAA after losing at Jackson -- in mostly the same spots.

In Class AAAAA, Northside stayed at No. 1, Houston County at No. 3 and Jones County at No. 7.

Mary Persons was off and slipped from fourth to fifth in Class AAAA while West Laurens remained 10th.

Peach County moved up one spot and Dodge County two in Class AAA, while Fitzgerald and Macon County maintained their positions in Class AA at No. 2 and No. 10, respectively.

No area team in Class A got a vote.
