GHSA Region 7-A softball tournament schedule revised
Changes made to the GHSA Region 7-A softball tournament schedule have turned the event into a seven-team tournament.
Originally slated to be a four-team, single-elimination event according to schedules provided to The Telegraph, the tournament will now take place over three days at multiple sites.
On Monday, three quarterfinal games will take place at two sites. Lincoln County will take on FPD and GMC will take on Mount de Sales at GMC, while Stratford will play Glascock County at Tattnall Square.
Semifinal games will take place Wednesday, with GMC hosting if it beats Mount de Sales on Monday. Tattnall (which will host if GMC loses) earned a bye into the semifinals against the Stratford-Glascock County winner, as Region 7B-A only had three teams finish the regular season. The Lincoln County-FPD winner will take on the Mount de Sales-GMC winner in the other semifinal.
The championship game is slated for Oct. 8 at the highest remaining seed, with the Region 7B-A team hosting if seeds are equal. Times for the games have not been confirmed.
