Sunday Morning Quarterback: Game balls

Ahmad Barron, Tattnall Square: The junior running back scored three touchdowns and had 113 all-purpose yards in a 37-7 win over GMC.

Javian Bradford-Jackson, Warner Robins: The junior took over for the injured Terry Harris in the second half and finished with 173 yards on 29 carries and a touchdown in the Demons’ 44-34 win at Peach County.

Markess Burton, Southwest: The junior receiver caught four passes for 124 yards and had a 93-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in a 38-32 win over Northeast.

Antonneous Clayton, Dooly County: The senior defensive end had three sacks, 10 hurries, a deflection and nine tackles in a 32-8 win over Wilcox County.

Amari Colbert, Houston County: Colbert caught three passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns in the 41-13 win over Veterans.

Lyn-J Dixon, Taylor County: Dixon exploded for 175 yards and a touchdown on eight catches in the Vikings’ 35-34 loss to East Laurens.

Derrick Evans, Central: The senior quarterback completed 16-of-26 passes for 218 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in a 31-0 win over Wilkinson County. He also had two touchdown runs.

Dre Evans, Mary Persons: The senior linebacker had 10 tackles and three tackles for loss in a 28-21 double-overtime win over Jackson.

Carlos Ferguson, Central: The senior middle linebacker had 11 tackles and a sack against Wilkinson County.

Jake Fromm, Houston County: The junior quarterback completed 18-of-26 passes for 353 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-13 win over Veterans.

Jerome Grayer, Northeast: The junior ran for 148 yards and three first-quarter touchdowns on 26 carries against Southwest.

David Haithcock, Stratford: The senior offensive lineman played a key role in the Eagles picking up 440 yards of total offense in a 41-33 win at Savannah Country Day.

Chandler King, Central: The senior defensive end had eight tackles and two sacks against Wilkinson County.

Zach Harvey, Mary Persons: The junior running back ran for 88 yards and two touchdowns against Jackson.

Shareez Hamm, Jones County: Few players had quite the debut of the 6-footer, who caught four passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns in the Greyhounds’ 30-13 win over Morgan County.

Tre Howard, Mary Persons: The junior defensive end had 12 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack against Jackson.

Bradley Hunnicutt, Jones County: The junior had a quite efficient season opener, completing 15-of-23 (65.2 percent) for 303 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions in the win over Morgan County.

Jake Johnston, Mary Persons: The senior quarterback threw for 136 yards and a touchdown against Jackson, scoring the only touchdown of overtime on a 2-yard keeper.

Courvoisier King, Howard: The senior quarterback accounted for all five touchdowns in the Huskies’ 38-17 win over FPD. He threw for four scores and ran for one, passing for 286 yards in the process.

Savion Knowlton, Westside: The junior quarterback completed 12-of-18 passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-19 win over Rutland.

Jerin Means, Howard: The junior wide receiver caught three passes for 120 yards and a touchdown against FPD.

Cam O’Neal, John Milledge: O’Neal ran 19 times for 241 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the 37-7 win over Heritage.

Chandler Ramage, Jones County: Ramage was kept out of the end zone, but ran 17 times for 139 yards in the Greyhounds’ win over Morgan County.

Antonio Sanders, Central: The junior running back ran for 113 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries against Wilkinson County.

Jordan Slocum, Southwest: The freshman quarterback racked up 208 yards of total offense against Northeast. He ran for three touchdowns in the second half.

Alphonso Stephens, Howard: The senior receiver bumped his season touchdown reception total to four with a pair of scores against FPD. He finished with four catches for 132 yards.

Clint Thompson, Dodge County: The quarterback accounted for 178 of the Indians’ 353 yards of offense and two touchdowns in a 21-20 win over Brantley County.

Willie Toulson, Brentwood: The senior ran 21 times for 155 yards, rushed in for the game-winning two-point conversion in the 14-13 win over Edmund Burke.

Matt Trotter, Warner Robins: The tight end caught two passes for 56 yards and a touchdown, and helped an offensive line block for a 64-carry, 323-yard rushing night in the win over Peach County.

Tobe Umerah, Stratford: The sophomore had 13 tackles and a tackle for loss against Savannah Country Day.

O’Showen Williams, Stratford: The senior running back recorded 172 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries against Savannah Country Day. He also had three catches for 66 yards and a touchdown.

Gunnar Watson, Taylor County: The Vikings’ quarterback completed 22-of-36 for 372 yards and four touchdowns in the loss to East Laurens.

Johnny Willis, Dublin: Willis led the Irish to a 31-0 romp over Johnson County with 14 carries, 148 yards and a touchdown to go with eight tackles on defense.
