Below are the high school athletes nominated to be the top boys’ athlete from the winter sports season in Middle Georgia. The candidates were suggested by school officials and coaches. The Telegraph also assessed player stats for the season.

Shemar Scott, Northside High School
Shemar Scott is a junior wrestler at Northside High School. Scott had seven wins this season out of 11 matches and managed four pins. He is also a multi-sport athlete, playing football in the fall for Northside.
Matthew Kohlman, Perry High School
Matthew Kohlman is a sophomore wrestler at Perry High School. Kohlman was named the 2025 AAAA champion in his weight class. His season record was 50-2 with nine first-place finishes.
Tyler Smith, Crawford County High School
Tyler Smith is a junior basketball player at Crawford County High School. Smith averaged 10.9 points per game this season, along with 6.6 rebounds per game.
