Who was the best high school football player in Middle Georgia in Week 2? Vote here

Week 2 of high school football season saw great games across the board in Middle Georgia.

The Northeast Raiders rolled over the Southwest Patriots 36-14, the Houston County Bears edged out Effingham County 44-41 and the Perry Panthers won again with a 49-39 victory over the Peach County Trojans.

Here are the nominees for Player of the Week in Week 2, who were recommended by their schools:

  • Isaiah Mitchel, Houston County High School: 12 receptions for 232 yards and a touchdown with one interception on defense
  • Reginald Glover, Northeast High School: 15 rushes for 179 yards and two touchdowns with 54 passing yards, for a total of 233 all-purpose yards
  • Zion Hudson, Peach County High School: Five receptions for 233 yards, averaging 46 yards per catch, and two touchdowns
  • Ahmad Gordon, Perry High School: 29 rushes for 181 yards and two touchdowns
  • Marquis Hutchings, Southwest High School: Four tackles, two tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery
