Jimmy Daniels, Macon County: Became Macon County's only two-time all-state player this decade when he received consensus honors in 2007. Finished senior season with 122 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and six sacks. Selected all-state by the GACA in 2006. Named the Region 5-AA Defensive Player of the Year as a junior after coming up with 12 sacks and six forced fumbles. Played in the GACA all-star game. Signed with Reedley College.

Robert Hall, Hawkinsville: Hall received consensus all-state honors as a senior in 2005. He was named to the GACA all-state team as a junior. He was a key contributor on the Red Devils' two state championship teams. He missed four games as a senior, but still had 51 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and five sacks. As a junior, Hall had 92 tackles with 31 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. Currently a junior at Georgia Tech.

Charles Johnson, Hawkinsville: Johnson was named the Class A Defensive Player of the Year after leading the Red Devils to the 2003 state championship. As a senior, Johnson had 16 sacks and 30 quarterback pressures. Picked for the GACA all-star game. Arguably the highest rated recruit this decade from Middle Georgia. Had an all-conference career at Georgia. Currently, a defensive lineman with the Carolina Panthers.

Abry Jones, Northside: Named the AP Class AAAAA Defensive Player of the Year in 2008 and received consensus all-state honors as a junior and a senior. Jones had 81 tackles, 15 sacks and 10 tackles for loss as a senior. He had 76 tackles, 12 sacks, eight tackles for loss and eight pass deflections as a junior. Rated as the No. 1 defensive tackle in the nation by Scout.com. Played in the UnderArmour national all-star game. Currently a freshman at Georgia.

Kyle Moore, Houston County: Earned consensus all-state honors and was named Class AAAAA Defensive Player of the Year as a senior when he had 93 tackles, 22 sacks, 18 pass deflections and eight forced fumbles in 2004. He was also an All-Middle Georgia pick as a junior after racking up 110 tackles, 23 tackles for loss and 15 sacks. Named to the Parade and USA Today All-American teams as a senior. Signed with Southern Cal. Drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Sam Robinson, Northside: Robinson was a consensus all-state selection in 2005, when the senior helped the Eagles to a runner-up finish in Class AAAA. He finished with 88 tackles, 12 sacks and three forced fumbles. Played in the GACA all-star game. Leader on a team that lost in the state championship game.

Anthony Taylor, Northside: A consensus all-state pick as a senior, Taylor finished with 75 tackles and 15 sacks in 2007. He had 50 tackles and eight sacks as a junior. Northside won a state title during his junior and senior seasons. Signed with South Alabama.

Erik Walden, Dublin: Walden broke the school record with 19 sacks as a senior and finished with 97 tackles and 11 tackles for loss. Named to the AP and AJC all-state teams as a senior in 2002 after helping to lead the Irish to the championship game. Went on to an all-conference career at Middle Tennessee. Drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Currently, a linebacker with the Miami Dolphins.
