Westside’s Kowacie Reeves, a top-40 recruit, chooses where he’ll play college basketball

Middle Georgia’s top recruit has decided where he’ll play college basketball as one of the most highly sought after players in the class of 2021.

Westside’s Kowacie Reeves Jr., a 6-foot-5 combo guard, ranked in the top 40 on multiple recruiting websites, committed on Thursday to the University of Florida with a video on Twitter.

Reeves had more than 20 Division I offers from some of the most notable schools in the country, including Clemson, Texas and Georgia.

Florida was the first team to offer Reeves a scholarship offer in 2018 coming off of his freshman season in which he starred alongside current Clemson guard Khavon Moore.

Moore was one of the top players in his class and during his recruiting process teams took notice of Reeves and his 3-point shooting ability.

Reeves averaged 21 points per game last season and helped lead the Seminoles to the Sweet 16. He developed more as an all-around player during his junior season and grabbed nearly seven rebounds per game and 2.4 steals per game.

The Seminoles are poised to make a run again next season with Reeves and fellow D-I recruit Javian Mosley set to return for their senior seasons.
