Telegraph announces 2019-20 All-Middle Georgia boys basketball team, players, coach of the year

The Middle Georgia basketball season has come to a close after months of jaw-dropping dunks, clutch shots, big wins and heartbreaking defeats.

Macon had a team make it the farthest in the GHSA playoffs with Central reaching the Final Four behind the talent of one of the Staff Co-Players of the Year, Quay Primas.

The Chargers came up a couple wins short of the elusive title but could be contenders again next season with Primas set to return. He averaged more 20 points a game and 15 rebounds.

His region mate and Westside rival Kowacie Reeves Jr. earned a share of the top individual honors for his relentless scoring ability and the leap he took this season as a true all-around talent. He has offers from top NCAA programs like Stanford, Florida and UGA.

Jarden Maze of Washington County took home the Fan’s Choice Player of the Year award with over 1,000 votes. Maze led Washington County 18 points per game and helped them reach the Elite Eight.

Andre Taylor leading his Central Chargers to the Final Four from the two seed in his region was enough to earn him our Coach of the Year award. The Chargers finished the season with a 23-8 record.

Those who took home the top player awards were not added to the first and second-team lists as they are already a part of the All-Middle Georgia team.
