Weather issues

Several games have been postponed or canceled because of Tropical Storm Irma hitting the area Monday.

Friday’s Southwest-Spalding, Northeast-Central and Rutland-Crisp County games have been canceled.

The Veterans-Howard game scheduled for Thursday has been moved to 7:30 p.m. on Friday at McConnell-Talbert Stadium. FPD’s game against Warren County has moved to 6 p.m. on Saturday. And Northside’s game at Ware County has been moved back a week to Sept. 22.

Bibb County success

Several of Bibb County’s teams have gotten off to strong starts with seven of the 10 GHSA teams having winning records.

Stratford is off to a 3-0 start and is off this week, while Northeast is also 3-0, and Tattnall Square is 2-0 as it prepares to host Pacelli. Howard has won three straight games to get to 3-1, while FPD, Mount de Sales and Southwest are all 2-1.
